Our client is looking for an Accounts Administrator who enjoys variety and has a keen interest in working with numbers and monetary transactions.
Main purpose of role
To work in a varied role providing assistance in the Accounts department of this busy international company.
This is a hands-on full-time role requiring the ability to listen and take direction, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy as well as working to accounting deadlines.
Cover for Accounts Assistant and support Accounts Office Manager.
Reporting to Accounts Officer Manager.
The role will include supporting the accounts team with sales and purchase ledgers; ad-hoc admin duties which include processing supplier invoices, dealing with supplier and customer queries, chasing courier claims, and keeping spreadsheets up to date. Supporting with month-ends and years-ends.
Key Responsibilities
Monthly - Send out statements to customers.
Maintain and Deal with accounts customer and supplier emails and provide cover for other emails received.
For: remittances/copy invoices/pod/statements/check customer payments.
Support for Creditsafe email alerts.
Cover the Accounts Office manager with overseas orders - keeping spreadsheet up to date and dealing with incoming emails - nothing too complex.
Email invoices to overseas customers and deal with queries and raising the daily UK invoices.
Support with emails from customers and sales staff.
Initial credit checks admin for new customers and increase limits for existing customers for Accounts Office Manager sign off.
Check and post all non-Purchase Orders invoices (PO) and PO invoices to relevant supplier's accounts.
Update freight costing sheet.
Assist with staff expenses and company credit cards.
Ad hoc admin duties.
Assist with month-end processes.
Samples and free-of-charge charges.
Freight claims.
Create, record and post payment links and support chasing with credit control.
Support Manager to ensure the accountants are provided with all year-end information.
The main challenges in this role will be keeping processes up to date and keeping up to date with legislation.
The successful candidate will need to have strong attention to detail with accuracy, conscientious and self-motivated with a can-do attitude and good communication skills and be computer literate with the ability to use Excel at an intermediate level. Ideally, we would like this person to have a Level 2 Accountancy qualification or working towards it.
A full, clean driving licence and own transport is an advantage due to the location of the offices.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm, Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm 1 hour for lunch.
Starting salary from £22K
