SF Recruitment are working with an established international SME business based in Worcester to recruit a Legal & Accounting Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for something a little different. The role offers a broad mix of financial management, legal administration, HR, IT and general business operations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to be involved in more than just the numbers.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of key accounting activities alongside a range of wider business responsibilities. The company offers the stability of an established international group combined with the friendly, hands-on environment of a smaller business.

Main Duties

As Accounting & Legal Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Taking ownership of management accounts and financial reporting for an international business.

Managing month-end accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.

Overseeing VAT accounting and compliance across European entities.

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and the annual audit process.

Coordinating legal administration, commercial contracts and trademark matters.

Overseeing HR administration, payroll processes, pensions and employee benefits.

Managing relationships with external IT providers and supporting business systems.

Supporting SAP system administration, improvements and reporting.

Coordinating business insurance, statutory administration and compliance requirements.

Working closely with senior management to improve processes and ensure the smooth running of the business.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced accountant who enjoys working in a broad, hands-on role and is comfortable taking responsibility for different areas of a business.

You will ideally have:

A strong background in management or financial accounting, preferably within an SME environment.

Experience using SAP S/4HANA

Good technical accounting skills and an understanding of financial controls.

A flexible, proactive approach and a willingness to get involved in wider business activities.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

An interest in developing knowledge across legal, HR and IT functions.

Experience of VAT, payroll, legal administration or commercial contracts would be advantageous, although you do not need to be a specialist in every area.
