We are currently recruiting for a Chartered Accountant to join our client in Birmingham, B18.

The successful candidate will join the Accounts department , reporting to the Managing Director.

Main duties and responsibilities for the Chartered Accountant role:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Manage financial systems and budgets.

* Manage Payroll

* Undertake financial audits (an independent check of an organisation's financial position)

* Provide financial advice.

* Liaise with clients (individuals or businesses) and provide financial information and advice.

* Review the company's systems and analyse risk.

* Perform tests to check financial information and systems.

* Advise on tax planning (within current legislation to minimise tax liability) and tax issues associated with business activities.

* Maintain accounting records and prepare accounts and management information for senior management.

* Detect and prevent fraud (forensic accounting)

* Manage junior colleagues.

* Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise.

* Produce reports and recommendations following internal audits or public sector audits.

* Prepare financial statements, including monthly and annual accounts.

* Arrange financial management reports, including financial planning and forecasting.

* Advise on tax and VAT issues.

* Negotiate terms with suppliers.

* Reconcile stock held with offshore suppliers.

Main requirements for the Chartered Accountant role:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

* Educated to degree level in a related field, ideally holding or working towards a professional qualification.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal team members and external suppliers.

* Excellent computer proficiency.

The Chartered Accountant role is office based, Monday to friday 8.45am to 5.15pm
