Our client is a well-established, stable, and growing family-owned business. They are looking to add a proactive Account Manager to their team—someone who thrives on taking on responsibility and loves overseeing clients who are often time-poor.

As the Account Manager, you will find that no two days are the same. You will be the trusted internal point of contact for key accounts, ensuring every enquiry, order, and request is handled with speed, accuracy, and a commercial mindset. If you are genuinely comfortable picking up the phone to proactively help a client get exactly what they need, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Client Relationship Management: Act as the dedicated internal manager for key customers, monitoring account activity, anticipating needs, and ensuring service excellence.

* Order & Enquiry Handling: Manage incoming sales enquiries, quotations, and web-generated orders via phone and email.

* Inbox Management: Oversee the shared sales inbox, ensuring all customer requests are actioned promptly.

* Commercial Administration: Complete sales administration, process goods returns and arrange literature or sample requests.

* Supplier Coordination: Obtain supplier quotations for bespoke or special-order products and arrange B2B purchase orders when required.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise seamlessly with Purchasing, Accounts, and Logistics teams to fulfil customer requirements.

* Commercial Awareness: Implement price increases in line with business requirements to maintain and grow gross profit, while identifying opportunities to streamline processes.

As the Account Manager you will have:

* Commercial Experience: Some background in internal sales, commercial account management, or high-level customer service within a fast-paced environment.

* Phone Confidence: Exceptional communication skills—someone who genuinely enjoys picking up the phone to build relationships and solve problems for busy clients.

* Proactive Mindset: A drive to take ownership of accounts, multitask, and prioritise a busy workload with minimal supervision.

* Attention to Detail: High accuracy when processing orders, quotations, and managing data.

* Tech Savvy: Experience using CRM or ERP systems (e.g., Merlin, Phocas) is beneficial but not essential.
