Pay: £13.70 per hour
Contract: Temporary, duration, 8 days in total.

Role Purpose

Manpower is recruiting Student Welcome Hosts on behalf of our client. As a Student Welcome Host is the first point of contact for students arriving at their new accommodation. The role focuses on delivering a warm, organised, and supportive welcome experience. This includes greeting students, showing them to their rooms, answering questions, and providing additional guidance for those arriving from overseas or visiting the UK for the first time.

Key Responsibilities

Student Greeting & Arrival Support - Welcome students upon arrival and create a friendly, reassuring first impression.

Room Orientation - Escort students to their rooms and explain essential features such as access systems, heating, laundry facilities, and WiFi.

Move In Assistance - Provide light support with luggage and help students navigate the building.

Information & Queries - Answer questions about the accommodation, local amenities, transport options, and building procedures.

International Student Support - Offer additional guidance to overseas students, including cultural orientation, local norms, and practical advice for settling into the UK.

Community Building - Help foster a welcoming environment that encourages students to feel part of the community.

Issue Reporting - Report maintenance concerns or wellbeing issues to the accommodation team promptly.

Safety & Compliance - Ensure students are aware of safety procedures and follow check?in protocols accurately.

Skills & Attributes

Excellent Communication - Clear, friendly communication, especially with students whose first language is not English.

Cultural Awareness - Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and an understanding of the needs of international students.

Customer Service Mindset - A warm, helpful approach with a genuine desire to support students.

Problem solving - Ability to handle unexpected questions or situations calmly.

Organisation - Ensuring arrival processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Team Collaboration - Working effectively with accommodation staff to maintain seamless operations.

Experience & Requirements

Experience in customer service, hospitality, reception, or student facing roles is preferred but not essential.

Comfortable interacting with people from a wide range of cultures.

Ability to remain calm and positive during busy arrival periods.

Basic knowledge of the local area or willingness to learn.
