Salary: £23,207- £28,539 PA

Hours: 37 Hours PW

Academic Instructor – Project Search – The Role:
We've been SEARCHing everywhere for you!
Come join our wonderful Project SEARCH team as an Academic Instructor. In this role, you will be based at Swindon Borough Council working with a small cohort of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) students to support them during their placement at SBC. You will support these learners to bridge the gap between education and employment, and build and maintain strong relationships with other employers such as Swindon Borough Council and Project SEARCH. You will also coordinate and deliver the Project SEARCH programme and providing sessions that embed English and Maths, set inspiring SMART targets to create motivation and ensure all eligible funding is claimed to continue to provide support.
Academic Instructor– Project Search – Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Job Coaches in providing an outstanding provision for both SEND students and employers
- To Support interns to be successful in their employment, provide an appropriate level of support and guidance in the workplace using Systematic Instruction
- Engage with employers to develop appropriate and realistic employment opportunities young people on a Project SEARCH placement
Academic Instructor – Project Search – You:
- To apply for this role, you will need English and Maths at minimum Level 2
- Level 3 certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners or willing to work towards
- Level 4 teaching qualification or willing to work towards
- Hold a minimum Level 3 SEND specialism qualification or equivalent experience
- The suitable candidate may have experience working in an educational system, learning support systems, or as a teaching assistant in the past
