Our client is a well-established Chartered Accountancy Practice in Verwood with a loyal portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients. They are looking to recruit an ACA or ACCA Part-Qualified or Qualified Accountant to join their friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis.

The practice ideally seeks someone on a full-time basis; however, flexibility around working hours and days can be discussed for the right candidate.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position working with a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
You will be involved in preparing accounts, working from client bookkeeping records, liaising directly with clients and helping ensure accounts are completed accurately and on time.Working closely with the Practice Principal and wider team, you will have the opportunity to manage your own workload while receiving training/support whenever required.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing year-end statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses and SME clients
* Producing accounts from client bookkeeping records and accounting information
* Posting journals and processing year-end adjustments
* Preparing and maintaining electronic working papers
* Using accounting software including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
* Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
* Discussing accounts with clients and assisting with the sign-off process
* Supporting corporation tax work and computations where required
* Assisting with general accounts and compliance work across the client portfolio
* Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure client deadlines are met
About You
We welcome applications from candidates with a range of experience levels, provided you have previous UK accountancy practice experience.
You may be:
* ACA or ACCA Part-Qualified with strong practical experience
* Recently ACA or ACCA Qualified
* A minimum of 2/3 years experienced in Practice
* An experienced Practice Accountant looking for a long-term opportunity within a smaller firm
* Seeking a role closer to home that offers greater flexibility and work-life balance
Essential Requirements
Previous UK accountancy practice experience/Experience preparing statutory accounts/Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SME clients/Strong communication and client relationship skills/Ability to manage your own workload independently/Good technical accounting knowledge/Professional and approachable manner
Desirable Experience but not essential
* Corporation tax experience
* Sage, Xero or QuickBooks knowledge
* Experience using accounts production software
Please note that previous UK accountancy practice experience is essential. This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience has been gained solely within industry.
