A Level Mathematics Tutor | Islington, London | Sixth Form | Edexcel | Part-Time

Are you an experienced A Level Mathematics Tutor looking for a rewarding part-time teaching opportunity in Islington, London? We are working in partnership with a successful and inclusive Sixth Form in Islington, North London, to recruit an enthusiastic A Level Mathematics Tutor to provide targeted intervention and academic support to students preparing for their A Level examinations.

A Level Mathematics Tutor - The Role

As an A Level Mathematics Tutor, you will deliver focused small-group intervention sessions to students currently achieving C-E grades. The aim is to identify gaps in knowledge, develop mathematical understanding, improve examination technique and build students' confidence.

The successful A Level Mathematics Tutor will work with small groups of approximately 2-3 students and deliver targeted support based on the Edexcel A Level Mathematics specification.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality A Level Mathematics intervention to small groups.
Support students currently working towards D-E grades.
Teach and support the Edexcel A Level Mathematics specification.
Identify gaps in students' mathematical knowledge and understanding.
Develop students' problem-solving, reasoning and mathematical skills.
Provide targeted A Level Maths exam preparation and revision.
Support students with examination technique and assessment objectives.
Monitor progress and adapt intervention accordingly.
Work collaboratively with Sixth Form teaching staff.To be successful as an A Level Mathematics Tutor, you will ideally have:

Strong knowledge of the Edexcel A Level Maths specification.
Experience preparing students for A Level Mathematics examinations.
A strong understanding of A Level assessment objectives.
The ability to identify and address gaps in students' understanding.
A patient, motivational and student-focused approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience supporting lower-attaining A Level Maths students and helping learners progress from D-E grades would be highly desirable.
