As a key member of a divisional leadership team, you will provide expert financial insight, challenge and support to help shape operational decisions, improve productivity and deliver long-term financial sustainability.

The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decision-making across a large-scale organisation with a substantial expenditure portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as a trusted finance adviser to divisional and operational leaders, influencing strategic and operational decision-making.

* Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance reporting for designated service areas.

* Support delivery of financial recovery programmes, efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.

* Develop robust financial models, business cases and investment appraisals to inform decision-making.

* Provide insightful analysis of financial, workforce, activity and performance data to identify risks, opportunities and improvement initiatives.

* Support service redesign and transformation programmes, ensuring financial implications are understood and benefits are realised.

* Present financial information and recommendations to senior leadership teams, committees and executive stakeholders.

* Ensure strong financial governance, controls and compliance across designated areas.

* Lead, mentor and develop finance team members, promoting a high-performing business partnering culture.

About You

You will be a qualified accountant (CCAB/CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally within the NHS or wider public sector.

You should be able to demonstrate:

* Significant experience in finance business partnering at a senior level.

* Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance management.

* Experience supporting financial recovery, efficiency and productivity programmes.

* The ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while building credible working relationships.

* Proven experience developing business cases, financial models and options appraisals.

* Advanced analytical and Excel skills.

* Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and developing finance teams.

* The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations.

Desirable Experience

* Experience within an NHS provider organisation.

* Understanding of NHS financial regimes, contracting and costing methodologies.

* Exposure to service line reporting, patient-level costing, benchmarking and productivity improvement programmes.

* Experience working collaboratively across wider health and care systems.

What's on Offer

* A strategic leadership role with significant organisational impact.

* Opportunity to work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders.

* Involvement in major transformation, productivity and financial improvement programmes.

* Hybrid and flexible working opportunities.

* Excellent development and career progression prospects within a large and complex organisation.

If you're an experienced finance leader who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing change and driving improvement, we'd be keen to hear from you
