5S Cleaning / Furnace Operator
We are looking for someone to join our existing team at our client based in Plymouth to manage the loading and unloading of two furnaces, to clean grinding booths and to carry out general 5S cleaning duties.
The customer's production line produces a lot of waste material and this needs to be collected through the day and night to ensure that the areas stay clear and tidy. The waste needs to be sorted and disposed of correctly in the bins and compactors on site. The yard area needs to be kept clean and tidy at all times along with the smoking shelters. There is a scrubber machine that needs to be operated throughout the factory during each shift and then cleaned down after use.
Our customer has two large furnaces and these need to be managed through the day and night. This work involves collecting metal hangers from the production line and loading them into the furnace. Once the furnace has finished its cycle, the metal hangers need to be removed and moved back to the production line.
Their grinding booths need to be cleaned out each week and this is usually done when they are not in use, either on a Friday evening or Saturday morning. As this work is outside of the normal shift, it is done as overtime. The overtime is split between all team members and you will need to be available for this work around 1 in every 8 weeks.
The job requires manual handling skills and it is physically demanding. The work is both inside and outside. Full training will be given.
Hours and Pay
Hours of work: 3pm - 11pm Monday - Friday
Pay will be £14.05 per hour (advanced rate inclusive of holiday accrual)
2 Days training will be provided payed at £12.82 per hour (advanced rate inclusive of holiday accrual)
A full UK drivers licence (desirable).
28 days holiday (including all bank holidays)
