3rd Line Support Engineer – London - £48k - £52k + excellent benefits
Our client is a well-established IT services provider based in London. Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to recruit a 3rd Line Support Engineer. The role will involve managing complex client infrastructures and delivering strategic IT solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Provide expert-level support for complex issues across server environments, virtualisation, networking, cloud services, and security. Act as the primary escalation point for the engineering team.
* Lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, including server migrations, virtualisation deployments, cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure), and network upgrades, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
* Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored IT solutions. Manage client expectations and guide them through technical implementations.
* Mentor junior engineers, offering guidance on technical issues and career development. Ensure team members adhere to best practices and quality standards.
* Lead the design and implementation of security solutions, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and cloud security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
* Ensure thorough documentation of system configurations, solutions, and troubleshooting steps. Provide clients with performance reports and recommendations for improvement.
Technical Skills:
* Expert knowledge in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, and WDS, including advanced troubleshooting and configuration.
* Strong hands-on experience with server virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure (Azure AD, Virtual Machines, Storage).
* In-depth experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Cove, Acronis) and disaster recovery planning.
* Strong networking skills: VLANs, subnetting, TCP/IP, LAGs, VPNs, and expertise in configuring and managing firewalls (Fortinet, Juniper, Watchguard, Palo Alto).
* Proficient in storage solutions, including Dell PowerVault and Synology (LUNs, RAID, storage pools).
* Experience with endpoint protection platforms like Microsoft Defender and Sophos.
* Proven ability to manage and deliver complex IT projects, including server migrations, cloud deployments, and network upgrades.
Hours - Monday – Friday, between 9am – 6pm
