A new opportunity has arisen for a 3rd Line Infrastructure Project Engineer / IT Systems Administrator to join a growing business that specialises in building IT solutions for their customers across the SME sector, and then supporting that technology. They act as an outsourced IT function for their customers and deliver everything from basic support through to building out IT roadmaps and plans.  

What you’ll do as 3rd Line Infrastructure Project Engineer / IT Systems Administrator? 

Based out of their central Edinburgh office, you will be responsible for leading projects to deliver technology to their customers; projects will vary in scope, size, and technology – so multi-skilled Engineers with a good technical grounding across a range of infrastructure technologies would be ideal.  

You will work across the entire project lifecycle from initial requirements gathering to planning, building, implementing, and then supporting whatever technology is delivered – you will have good communication skills and will be adept at building good rapport with customers.  This is an excellent opportunity to help support SME organisations across Scotland and help them work smarter, ensuring customers can optimise the return on their technology investment.

We’re looking for a 3rd Line Infrastructure Project Engineer / IT Systems Administrator with the following essential criteria: 

High level of commercial experience in projects delivering IT and Networking technology, including desktop, server, cloud, network devices, and printer hardware
Experience supporting Microsoft Desktop and Server technologies
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Experience working with a range of networking / telephony technologies and products such as switches, routers, LAN / WAN, VOIP, and firewalls etc.
MS O365 experience (including Teams / SharePoint)
Any cloud skills such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
