360 Excavator Operator role based in Luton

The main aspects of the role are loading and unloading of aggregates from rail freight carriages and road trucks plus playing a vital role in the support to keeping the Terminal tidy and safe to operate in

The role will be initially engaged under contract with the potential for it to become permanent. This is a long-term opportunity.

The opportunity has the following elements aligned to it:

* 07.00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday with occasional overtime, 45-hour week
* £18.00 per hour PAYE
* Pro rata, 33 days leave pa
* If you are flexible enough and willing to work around the London Regions on a day2day basis then a Company Van will be made available for daily use
* Anybody wishing to be considered will need to take a short interview and vehicle operators' assessment at the Terminal in Luton (LU3)

Industries considered: Construction, groundworks, scrap/salvage and recycling
Disciplines considered: Driving experience for Volvo L120 / L150 or CAT 996L Loaders

Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and competent 360 Excvavator Operator to commence work at our Terminal in Luton. Working from our Client's site the role will involve the loading of aggregates in to waiting Lorries plus stockpiling material according to need and haulage requirements.

As a competent operator, you will show a high level of competency befitting the effective operation of a 360 excavator to include pre-use and end of shift vehicle and fuel checks. Undertake and complete daily and weekly inspections paperwork plus the recording of fuel usage. You will also be responsible for basic cleaning of the unit as required

Hours of work are 07.00 to 16.00 Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays by prior arrangement

Person Profile/Experience:

You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience operating a 360 Excavator, tracked and wheeled +/- 10 tonnes, CPCS or NPORS accredited and be adept in the management and movement of loose aggregates and loading of a broad range of vehicles, in particular, 6 and 8 wheel tippers and articulated wagons
You will have a good sense of purpose and an excellent work ethic plus an eye for detail. You should be able to evidence your readiness to take pride in what you do and have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety at Work
Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a similar area of industry. We are happy to receive applications from those that have experience of moving waste/recycling, scrap or having undertaken extensive ground/site works where the loading of trucks has been part of the role

Key Criteria:

Minimum 3 years' experience of operating a Loading Shovel
CPCS (Blue), NPORS or EPIC competency ticket
Excellent time keeping
Reliable
Time flexible
Ideally reside within 15 miles of the terminal
