SALARY £42-43K (Depending on Experience) + Overtime Rates
SHIFTS: 1 X DAY SHIFT: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
1 X NIGHT SHIFT: Monday to Friday - 10pm to 6am
Our client is a leading corrugated packaging manufacturer, supplying to a variety of markets throughout the UK, they have made a vast investment into the business over the past few years and have experienced significant growth and increase in workload.
They are currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of production by carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding quickly to machinery breakdowns. Working as part of a small but dedicated engineering team, you will service, maintain, and repair a range of production equipment, helping to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automated system faults to minimise downtime
Ensure machinery is serviced and maintained to maximise production efficiency and reliability
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs
Work closely with the production and manufacturing teams to maintain continuous production flow
Complete maintenance records accurately and report any recurring issues or improvement opportunities
Support the installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of machinery and equipment
Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company health & safety procedures
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
Work collaboratively within the engineering team while also being able to work independently when required
Provide support to colleagues and assist with engineering projects as neededRequirements:
Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance, with experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, and computerised control systems
Ability to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs under pressure
Experience of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and organised approach to work
Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively
A reliable, flexible team player with the ability to work independently
Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with production teams
Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent) is desirable
