2nd Line Engineer

£34,000 - £38,000 plus benefits

London, SW9 (WFH 1 day a week)

My client is a highly successful IT company who have been named as one of Britain’s TOP 50 Best Managed IT Companies. They have a fantastic working environment and an excellent reputation.

Due to expansion, they are looking for an experienced Level 2 Technical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis, to be responsible for resolving escalated issues and client project work.  

2nd Line Engineer – Duties:

Documentation of client networks and small projects

Backup maintenance

Configuration of standard mail and messaging clients including Outlook

Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customisation of Office 365

Installation and management of Microsoft SharePoint and SharePoint permission management

Understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, smartphones, and tablets.

Azure Server – Experience preferred with Azure Virtual Server, Azure AD

Configure file, print, and remote access services

Administration, including add/remove users and groups from both cloud and on-premises directory systems, configure file permissions, and check event logs

Configure and restore from backup

Administration of enterprise e-mail application, including add/remove users and group, configure folder permissions if applicable, forward mail to other accounts, and add aliases

2nd Line Engineer – Over to you! Our ideal candidate will have;

Experience with Windows/ Mac desktop operating systems.

Excellent experience with SharePoint, Azure AD and Office 365.

Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity and experience with routers and firewalls. An understanding of DNS services.

Experience in a similar, Level 2 support or project-based role, with excellent client facing skills.

Knowledge of security fundamentals (endpoint protection, MFA, EDR/XDR, SOC/SIEM etc.).

Experience with Cisco switching, VLAN, routing, firewalling support.

Experience with mobile device support and data backup and recovery support.

At least one IT certification. The following certifications are preferred: M365 Foundations or Associate, CCNA/CCDA/CCNP, Project+, Network+, Security+, Apple etc.,
