2D CAD Technician - Outside IR35
Location: Wilton, Teesside
Contract: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 3 months
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full-time initially, with potential to reduce as the project progresses
We are looking for an experienced 2D CAD Technician to support a project based at Wilton, Teesside.
Working closely with the process engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and updating plant layouts and engineering drawings, supporting the delivery of project design work within a chemical manufacturing environment.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
Producing and updating 2D AutoCAD drawings and plant layouts
Developing and amending P&IDs
Working closely with Process Engineers to develop equipment and plant layouts
Incorporating engineering changes and design updates into drawings
Maintaining accurate drawing records and documentation
Supporting the engineering team as project requirements develop Experience Required
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with:
Strong AutoCAD 2D capability
Previous experience working within a chemical, petrochemical, process manufacturing or similar industrial environment
Experience producing or modifying plant layouts
Good working knowledge of P&IDs
The ability to work collaboratively with process and project engineering teams
Previous site or engineering-office experience within an operational plant environment Experience using 3D CAD would be advantageous but is not essential.
Assignment Details
The position will initially be full-time and predominantly office-based at Wilton, allowing close collaboration with the process engineering team during development of the plant layout.
The initial assignment is expected to be three months, although this is primarily for work-order and budget-planning purposes and the requirement will be dictated by project progress.
As the project develops, there may also be scope for the working hours to reduce depending on workload and project requirements.
