About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a proud, thriving, and ambitious secondary school in the Dalton-in-Furness
area to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student who requires individual guidance to access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. You will play a pivotal role in supporting their academic progress, social development, and emotional well-being within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with specific educational needs within secondary education.
Adapt learning materials and classroom activities to ensure the student can fully engage with lessons.
Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning atmosphere.
Monitor progress, track development, and provide constructive feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement and school policies.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Youth Worker within a secondary school setting.
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).
Available to start ASAP.
