Are you patient, resilient and passionate about making a genuine difference to a child’s school experience?

We’re looking for a confident and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the NP7 area, supporting a pupil in Key Stage 2 who needs some extra help with their behaviour, focus and engagement in school.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them feel settled, supported and ready to learn.

The pupil can sometimes find it difficult to stay focused and engaged in school and may display some challenging behaviours. Your role will be to provide the calm, consistent and positive support they need to manage these moments and have a successful school day.

You’ll be there to celebrate the wins, whether that’s completing a piece of work, managing a difficult moment or simply having a positive day in school.

What You’ll Be Doing

Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil
Helping them stay focused, engaged and involved in learning
Supporting with behaviour and emotional regulation
Building a strong, positive and trusting relationship
Using a calm and consistent approach during challenging moments
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive choices
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Helping the pupil feel safe, settled and successful in school

Who We’re Looking For

Patient, nurturing and resilient
Confident supporting children who may display challenging behaviour
Able to build positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries
Calm and consistent when dealing with difficult situations
Passionate about helping children reach their potential
Previous experience working with SEN, additional learning needs, behaviour or 1:1 support would be beneficial. However, the right attitude, personality and ability to connect with the pupil are incredibly important for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
