Experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Hillingdon / Uxbridge

Location: Hillingdon, Uxbridge, West London

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hillingdon, Uxbridge is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role will primarily involve providing dedicated support to a pupil with additional needs, while also offering flexible classroom support across KS1 and KS2 when the pupil is absent.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN within a mainstream classroom

* Support learning in line with the pupil’s EHCP or individual support plan

* Implement strategies to support communication, engagement, behaviour, and emotional regulation

* Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs

* Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

* Provide general classroom support across KS1 and KS2 when the pupil is absent

* Work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals

* Support the pupil’s social interaction and development

* Help maintain a calm, safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

About You:

* Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a UK school setting

* A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Early Years, or equivalent, such as CACHE, NVQ, or Diploma

* Confidence working on a 1:1 basis and adapting to different classroom environments

* Experience using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, AAC, or similar approaches

* A patient, calm, resilient, and nurturing approach

* Strong communication and teamwork skills

* A reliable, flexible, and proactive attitude

* A genuine commitment to inclusive education and supporting children to reach their potential

* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Uniform Education
