1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Stockport
Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child with complex needs at a primary school in Stockport.
This is a long-term, full-time position and would suit a dedicated Teaching Assistant who has strong SEND experience and is confident supporting children who may present with challenging or complex behaviours.
The Role
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a child with complex needs.
Supporting the child's educational, social and emotional development.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team.
Helping the child access learning and participate positively in school life.
Supporting with behaviour regulation and maintaining a calm, structured environment.
Building a strong and trusting relationship with the child.
Using appropriate strategies to support the child's individual needs and promote positive behaviour.
Maintaining consistency and providing encouragement throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with children with SEND is essential.
Team Teach training is essential.
Experience supporting children with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
Must be resilient, patient and committed to the role.
Able to remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a positive rapport and trusting relationship with the child.
Confident working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting the child's long-term development.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
