Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chorlton, which is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from October 2026.

This is a full-time position, working 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through both one-to-one and small-group interventions. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and motivated individual who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help pupils engage fully with their learning and develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in school.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personalised 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Deliver targeted small-group interventions to support learning, progress, and development.
Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and deliver differentiated learning activities.
Support the implementation, monitoring, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
Adapt resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles.
Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and positive engagement with school life.

Essential Requirements

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
A caring, adaptable, and resilient approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A Level 2 Safeguarding qualification, or willingness to complete relevant training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
